We had to develop a summer campaign for the City of Ontario’s Library. We wanted to pay homage to the ice cream man/paletero man, and ice cream truck culture that we all grew up with. I made some illustrations, created the style guide and marketing material.
Paletero Man Video
Bringing the summer vibes of the paletero man with a library twist…We created the cart from scratch, and made books/paletas as props. Kids handed out their library cards as a form of currency. I co-wrote and co-directed the video. I was also the cinematographer and editor.

Mood Board and Ideation
We took inspiration from old 90s ice cream ads, hand printed type treatment, and bright vivid colors.
Style Guide
Marketing and Illustrations
The Summer at the Library brand is consistent across all marketing collateral. I also illustrated “Charlie”, the library’s mascot as a paletero ice cream and with a cart.
